What to Pack for a Kenya and Tanzania Safari
Pack light, practical layers, neutral colours, sun protection, camera support, and travel documents that make transfers smoother.
Safari packing should support early starts, dusty roads, changing temperatures, and luggage limits. Soft bags are usually easier to manage than hard suitcases.
Bring neutral clothing, a warm layer for morning drives, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, binoculars, camera batteries, and any essential medication.
Avoid overpacking. Laundry may be available depending on the lodge, and most safari days favour simple, functional clothing over formal outfits.
Planning note: packing advice can change slightly if your route includes internal flights, mobile camps, coastal extensions, or family travel with children.
